Dr. Stephen Turner formed Turner Eye Institute in 1976 providing vision correction surgeries and complete ophthalmology services to residents of the Greater San Francisco Bay Area.  Dr. Turner performed his first LASIK procedure in 1996.  In 2011, Dr. Turner merged practices with Dr. Michael Furlong and Furlong Vision Correction, forming Furlong Turner Vision Correction.

Together they have performed more than 66,000 refractive and 20,000 small-incision cataract surgeries to date. Dr. Turner is also a pioneer in the treatment of Keratoconus and Furlong Turner Vision Correction is one of the few practices nationwide with a successful multi-component treatment protocol for this progressive disease. 

Furlong Turner Vision Correction employs the highest level of technology available, including the NASA approved combination of the VISX Advanced CustomVue wavefront-guided laser and the IntraLase Femtosecond and the Allegretto Wave Eye-Q, which is designed to work optimally with other WaveLight diagnostic and surgical products.

Dr. Furlong is the recipient of the prestigious Jefferson Award for the Gift of Sight community program. He was chosen as one of the top 5 Surgeons nationwide out of 920 LVCI refractive surgeons and named one of San Jose's "Top Doctors" each year since 2000 by his peers.
