Stephen Wilmarth, M.D. graduated from Stanford University School of Medicine He is Board Certified and serves as an Expert Reviewer for the Medical Board of California. In addition, he participated in FDA studies on Laser Vision Correction. Dr. Wilmarth is a founder of the Horizon Vision Centers in Northern California and Medical Director of the Horizon Vision Center in Roseville. He also serves as Medical Director of Ophthalmic Surgery at the South Placer Surgery Center in Granite Bay.

With over 28 years of experience as an eye surgeon, Dr. Wilmarth has significant experience in new product surgical application. Recently, he was the first surgeon in the Central Valley credentialed to implant the Crystalens, an exciting new technology that allows the eye to focus seamlessly from distance to near. He was also the first physician approved in the Pacific Northwest to implant the Visian ICL. This lens is used for higher levels of nearsightedness and those who may not be candidates for LASIK due to thin corneas or dry eyes.
